Vegas Half Marathon
Another side quest — but should be a fun one. I’m in powerlifting mode the first half of the year, so I won’t be in great running shape… but you gotta bet we’re still finishing under two hours.

Spartan Race
This one is just for fun — going to show up in great shape and see what happens! Let’s hang out in Austin if you’re in the area before or after the comp.

Virginia Powerlifting Meet
The first big fitness challenge of the year. I’m taking this one seriously. The goal is to add almost 200 lbs to my total from my first meet, clearing 1400 lbs total in the 100kg division. Before, I tried to stack running and powerlifting and couldn’t get my squat over the hump. This time, I’m locked in. Any cardio from now until July will be maintenance.

California International Marathon
The second major challenge after the powerlifting comp. My goal is to get my finish time under 3:30, which would be a 30 minute + improvement over my first competition. I think the only thing stopping me from achieving this is over-ambition — last time, I was on track to run a sub 3:30 pace before I developed shin splints and had to cut my training short. If I make it to the finish line having completed training, it will mean I’ve learned the discipline needed to not overdo it. Time will tell.
